Had a great weekend hunting. Hope you are having the same.
Ruby had lots of exposure again this weekend & I got to shoot my first
solo rooster off her solo point!
She is pointing great. Nice hard picture perfect points and she stays
nice & firm while I kick around until the bird flushes. Up to this point
I have just been getting hen points from her, just luck of the draw.
I have been hunting her with the other dogs and she does her own thing,
hunting her own game, (otherwise I would take her out by herself). Very
independent in her searches, ignores the other dogs & always checks back.
She actually picked up a dead rooster I had knocked down in some lighter
switchgrass that the other dogs passed up in their search on Saturday. Her
nose is always working.
She also gave tongue on a rabbit she was chasing on Sunday. The other
guys got quite a kick out of that! Some pics attached.
